Economic Growth
The Regional Trade and Market Alliances (RTMA) Project (2012-1017) facilitated inclusive economic growth in Central America by strengthening intraregional trade and exports, with a particular focus on agricultural products. Through strategic market alliances, improved trade facilitation, and regional harmonization, RTMA enhanced trade efficiency and unlocks new opportunities for small and medium-sized producers.
The Project´s Key Initiatives:
Strengthening Agricultural Value Chains: RTMA developed critical agricultural value chains, connecting small and medium-sized producers to regional and export markets. By consolidating intraregional trade networks, the project leveraged untapped market potential and created pathways into high-value niche markets.
Enhancing Trade Facilitation: Improved trade capacity by strengthening the private sector and regional institutions. The project advanced customs harmonization, trade administration, border management, transportation, logistics, and other trade-related mechanisms, streamlining commerce across Central America.
Strategic Alliances and Recognition:
As part of its commitment to regional economic integration, the Project developed a strong partnership with the Secretariat for Central American Economic Integration (SIECA). This collaboration has strengthened SIECA’s operational capacity and expanded its impact across the region. In recognition of our client´s outstanding contribution to economic integration, the SIECA awarded the Project with the prestigious "Order of the Jaguar"—a symbol of excellence in fostering regional economic growth.
